Alegria (Midi)

Owner and captain Oliver Baudry has an ultra deluxe hotel barge Alegria on the Canal du Midi. This 100 feet long barge sleeps 4 guests in 2 spacious cabins with en-suite-bathrooms, heated towel rails, hair-dryers and bathrobes. The salon features a dvd player, satelite TV and internet access. There is a heated pool on deck for the guest’s enjoyment. Alegria is modern and unique with large round windows in the lounge and cabins offering panoramic views of the Canal du Midi.

The route is between Beziers and Carcassonne enabling guest to visit this famous Medieval city. An opportunity to drive through the beautiful landscape to Narbonne is also an option. Most meals are eaten on board prepared by the very able and well known chef Peter Shaw. Two meals are eaten at selected restaurants en route and included in the rates.

Rates include transfers from nearest airport or railway station, all meals on board plus 2 restaurants, excursions, use of bicycles, computer and internet.

Libje (Brittany)

A well restored 24 metre classic Dutch barge has been turned into the home of Ian and Jane Slade. Ian is an experienced skipper and Jane a qualified nurse and skilled chef with two cookery awards. Libje has two guest cabins, each en suite with WC, Shower and wash basin. The boat is comfortable and well appointed.

The route in Brittany is between Redon and Josselin. Cruising on the Canal de Nantes a Brest mooring in pretty villages and visiting towns such as La Gacilly a haven for artists and craftsmen. Opportunities to visit the medieval town of Malestoit with its street market and ending in Josselin mooring alongside the magnificent Chateau.

Rates for whole boat charter of up to 4 guests for 6 nights / 7 days include transfers from an agreed airport or train station in the area, use of the ship’s bicycles, CD/DVD player, Satellite TV.

C’est La Vie (Northern Burgundy and Champagne)

C’est la Vie is owned, skippered and hosted by Olivier and Deborah Megret. Both Olivier and Deb have worked extensively on hotel barges in France as Captain, Chef, Guide and Hostess. C’est la Vie is 128 feet long, sleeps 8 guests in 4 spacious wood paneled cabins each with en suite bathrooms. The salon and dining area have large picture windows and the teak deck has a sliding awning providing shade when needed. The barge is fitted out with surround sound stereo system in the salon and dining area, and there is a library and computer on board for guests’ use.

Their route in the Champagne area includes highlights such as WW1 Battelfields & cemetery of Belleau-Wood, American monument Chemin des Dames, Trench warfare of World War 1, Gothic Cathedral of Reims, Moet & Chandon Champagne house in Epernay. Restaurant meal in 2 Michelin star restaurant Les Crayeres in Reims.
